At Elixir Journeys we’re all about private and small-group nature-based experiences that will engage the senses, hyper-local products with low-carbon impact and great hosts who will bring to life this wonderful home we call Earth.

We passionately believe that tourism is the key to changing the world for the better. We believe that by helping people to appreciate the wonders of nature, they will be more inclined to take care of it.  But being in nature doesn’t have to mean roughing it and so we aim to combine soft-adventure with barefoot luxury. We won’t bamboozle you with latin names for rare plant species, but we might recommend you hug a tree (it feels great!). For us it’s about appreciating being outdoors and enjoying great food and great wine in beautiful locations.

All of our experiences are crafted with attention to detail, love and little luxury touches, and ensure just the right balance of activity and relaxation.

Beginnings

Elixir Journeys was inspired by the region itself. Having lived in Sydney for 13 years I had never really given the Central Coast much thought. I had been promoting Australia to high-net-worth international guests for a luxury inbound tour operator and I rarely showcased the Central Coast other than a stay at the gorgeous Pretty Beach House or Bells at Killcare.

It was only when I moved to the Bouddi Peninsula, just a stone’s throw from Palm Beach, that I realised how under-appreciated this whole region is.  Living here has shown me that there is actually so much to offer, so close to Sydney. I’ve travelled the world to all seven continents and I can speak with confidence when I say that this region really is a hidden gem just waiting to be explored by both international and domestic travellers.

I’ve spent months exploring the area in depth, connecting with locals and partnering with them to create premium experiences with the simple formula of nature plus great food and wine.

My goal is to use minimal motorised transport, give people a feeling of remoteness, showcase Australia’s beauty and of course wow them.

  • I was blown away by every single detail that went into such a remarkable, seamless and memorable week. The attention to detail and weaving in of indigenous and regeneration narratives, along with the incredible backdrops you chose to highlight, came together to leave everyone spellbound by the country, the people and so importantly, the scale of the regeneration underway.

We donate $5 to Koala Clancy for every guest.

Koala Clancy logo

Koala Clancy Foundation plants trees for koalas on farms and private land, creating new habitat and advocating for better protection of wild koalas. To date, with the help of volunteers they have planted over 15,000 trees.  We had the pleasure of participating in July 2020. It was extremely fulfilling and the passion of Koala Clancy’s founder Janine Duffy is contagious. It’s for this reason we have chosen to support Koala Clancy and we will donate $5 for every guest towards this wonderful cause.

About Koala Clancy

Koala Clancy Foundation is inspiring travellers and local communities to help ensure a future for wild koalas.

Koala Clancy Foundation is a not for profit incorporated association and registered charity that supports the wild koalas of the Western Plains of Victoria, particularly around the You Yangs and Brisbane Ranges, west of Melbourne. The aims of the organisation are:

Protection of koalas in the wild through enhancement and protection of their natural habitat by:
– organising travellers and locals to maintain and improve existing Koala habitat;
– educating travellers and the local community of the threats to wild koalas and their environment and the means to address these;
– mobilising the word of mouth and social media reach of the travel community worldwide to speak out in support of wild koalas and their environment;
– involving travellers and the local community in citizen science research into wild koala behaviour; and
creating partnerships with other organisations involved in koala protection, habitat creation and environment protection;
– any other means available.
